The pre-departure briefing was done last Wednesday and it looks like things are set for an amazing adventure for all. For overseas travelers... Most people are unaware of the Tourist Refund Scheme (TRS). This provides refunds of GST on certain products purchased for your trip. there are rules, of course.

- Purchases must be within 60 days prior to departure,

- Purchases must be over $300 (in total) from each vendor - i.e. attributed to a single ABN,

​​- There are exclusions, the expense of travel itself, alcohol, etc., and

- Typically, you must have the receipts and the products WITH you to show that you bought it for the travel - eg. Cameras, jackets, boots and other expensive clothing work well.
