Francesco and Sandy have travelling in earnest since 2008 with at least one big trip per year.  They are life partners and were married on 15 June 1985.

Sandy has worked as a receptionist and stenographer for the Mackay Daily Mercury - a local newspaper - since 1979.  She left the newspaper for a couple of years to raise two kids - Allyce (1989) and Brenton (1991).

Sandy served in the Army Reserve for almost 10 years having shown administrative excellence as a quartermaster clerk and a pay clerk.

Sandy spent a few years working as a medical receptionist at Mackay Family Medical Centre and returned to the Mackay Daily Mercury where she currently works as Editorial Assistant.

Francesco completed an apprenticeship as a Fitter, Turner and Machinist, before working in the engineering industry as a machineshop supervisor.  He then taught in the Mackay TAFE College for 4.5 years before changing career to Training and Human Resource Management with local iconic company - Mackay Sugar.

With a Bachelor of Adult and Vocational Teaching, and an Advanced Diploma of Human Resources Management, Francesco currently teaches in his original trade, and supervises a team of professional educators between Mackay and Gladstone in Central Queensland.

Francesco has also enjoyed a long career in the Army Reserve and currently enjoys trekking and climbing in clallenging terrain.
